Since its listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 1992, the Company has continued to invest in and expand its global port network. Its controlling shareholder, China Merchants Group, is headquartered in Hong Kong and operates across four business segments: transportation and logistics, comprehensive finance, property and industrial parks, and innovation and technology.
CMPort’s core businesses include port investment, port operations, port logistics, and smart technology. It has established a well-developed port network across China’s major coastal hub ports and has successfully expanded across Asia, Africa, Europe, Oceania, South America, and North America, with operations at 46 ports in 26 countries and regions. In recent years, as part of China Merchants Group’s “Third Entrepreneurship,” the Company has drawn on smart technology to foster new quality productive forces in the port sector. CMPort’s TOS-based smart port system solutions have been successfully deployed in 38 domestic and international projects across seven countries, providing clients with efficient and reliable operational technology support.
During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, amid a complex external environment shaped by profound adjustments in global trade patterns, the Company remained focused on its goal of becoming a world-leading port service provider, struck a balance between development and security, and deepened reform and innovation, delivering repeated record-high operating results and steadily enhancing its overall influence. In 2025, CMPort’s domestic and overseas ports handled container throughput of 151.29 million TEU, up 3.8% year on year, and bulk and general cargo throughput of 530 million tonnes. Overseas ports handled 38.94 million TEU, up 5.7% year on year. CMPort received an MSCI ESG rating of A, the highest among Hong Kong-listed companies in the same industry.
Looking ahead to the 15th Five-Year Plan period, CMPort will integrate ESG principles into the core of its strategy. Supported by a robust corporate governance framework, the Company will continue to optimize its global port network, enhance the effectiveness of lean management and innovative transformation, advance the transition to greener ports, uphold its commitment to social responsibility, actively empower local economies and industries, and continue creating long-term value for global supply chains.
