On December 15th, the 13th Hong Kong International Finance Forum, the Hong Kong ESG List Annual Assessment Ceremony and the China Securities “Golden Bauhinia Award” Presentation Ceremony co-organized by the Hong Kong Ta Kung Wen Wei Media Group, the Chinese Financial Association of Hong Kong, the Chinese Securities Association of Hong Kong, and the Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute were held in Hong Kong. China Merchants Port Holdings Co. Ltd. (“CMPort”, stock code 00144.HK) was honored with two awards: "Best Listed Company for ESG Practice" and "Outstanding Listed Company for High-Quality Development".
On the same day, Xu Song, the Chief Executive Officer of CMPort, was invited to attend a roundtable forum titled "Current Status and Overseas Practices of ESG Development in Chinese Enterprises." He stated that the company is listed on both the H and A shares markets and operates in 25 countries and regions across six continents. Although the ESG regulatory requirements and focal points vary in different regions, their essence is consistent. In its overseas ESG practices, CMPort adapts its approach to local conditions and promotes ESG work in a way that not only meets regulatory requirements but also integrates the company's operational achievements with the sustainable development of the local communities. He advised that in the process of developing ESG, Chinese enterprises should place great emphasis on ESG, conduct thorough risk identification, and drive high-quality, sustainable development overseas. Moreover, leveraging Chinese traditional culture for cultural exchange and understanding is crucial to addressing variations in ESG standards.
CMPort stood out among a host of contenders and won the "Best Listed Company for ESG Practice" award at the Hong Kong International ESG List Award Ceremony, with Xu Song representing the company to receive the award on stage.
At the China Securities "Golden Bauhinia Award" Presentation Ceremony held on the same day, CMPort was honored with the Golden Bauhinia Award for "Outstanding Listed Company for High-Quality Development."
The "Golden Bauhinia Award" is the largest, most prestigious, and most credible award ceremony for listed companies and their executives in Mainland China and Hong Kong. It serves as a barometer for observing China's capital market and listed companies from both domestic and international perspectives. Over the past twelve years, the China Securities "Golden Bauhinia Award" has recognized thousands of outstanding listed companies and honored over a hundred exceptional corporate leaders, with CMPort receiving awards for several consecutive years. In 2023, CMPort not only made it to the Hong Kong International ESG List but also won a significant "Golden Bauhinia Award," fully demonstrating the company's strength, achievements in ESG, and high recognition in the capital market.
