Lomé Container Terminal S.A.

Lomé Container Terminal is one of the few natural deep water ports in West and Central Africa and is well-located to serve as a transshipment hub for West Africa. The completed terminal will have an annual handling capacity of the equivalent of 2.2 million twenty foot container units. It is enable shipping lines to deploy the largest container vessels in West and Central Africa. It also has the capacity to provide economies of scale that significantly lower regional transportation costs.

It is a development terminal on the Gulf of Guinea, ideally positioned to serve as a transshipment hub for the West African coast and the only port on the West African coast with natural water depth of 14m.

LCT officially put into production at Oct.23th 2014, it serves as a gateway to the landlocked countries of Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso and to the northern areas of Nigeria. LCT has 7 services so far which are covering Europe, Asia and Africa. The terminal can receive larger vessels than any other terminal in the area and is equipped to ensure a fast and efficient transfer of the cargo from ocean services to local feeder and vice versa.

A complete new and modern Container terminal has been developed and is operated by a consortium of TIL and CMHI – each being 50% shareholder.
