With C Blue, our road towards becoming a world’s leading comprehensive port service provider will be more solid.”

Sponsored by CMCF, host by CMPort and organized by Shenzhen Polytechnic, 2017 C Blue Training Program started on October 16th, 2017 and last for 4 weeks. It is one of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects for CMPort, China Merchants Group’s subsidiary, to practice the enterprise mission - promoting social progress through commercial success - in countries along the “21st Century Maritime Silk Road.”The purpose of this CSR project is to train more leading talents in port and shipping industry. This is the second time for the company to offer industry-related training courses to foreign countries, as the first was held at Shanghai Maritime University in 2016. Compared with the edition of last year, 2017 C Blue achieved promotion in three main perspectives. Firstly, the amount of countries involved increased from 7to 13. Secondly, the background of C Blue instructors this year is more diverse, since the program invited experts and leaders from higher education institutions, Ministry of Transport of China, Shenzhen Municipal Government, international consulting firms, and China Merchants. Last but not least, the field studies are more abundant this year as trainees visited 12 enterprises and governmental departments in Zhangzhou, Xiamen and Beijing respectively.

The success of 2017 C Blue is believed to enhance China Merchants’ global influence and explicate CMPort’s will to connect the world. The collaboration between CMPort and Shenzhen Polytechnic is also deepened via this program. As for the trainees, they have scored fruitful achievements and will be able to utilize the knowledge and experience gained from C Blue to bolster and accelerate the development of port and shipping industry in their own countries, which further reinforces the bond among countries along the “Belt and Road” Initiative.
